About

Chivas Town is a colloquial term for the blue-collar Mexican-American neighborhood in Central El Paso. It is said that "Chivas Town" was an Anglo derogatory term for the undeveloped colonia in the first half of the 1900's between Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Fort Boulevard. As time went on Chivas Town also included the area North of Manhattan Heights that included a number of mechanic shops along Piedras Street.

As our Neighborhood Association continues to establish itself we will look for more information pertaining to Chivas Town and other things Central.
